What Was Recalled

The product being recalled is the Cuisinart metal wire bristle grill brush. These brushes, known for their black plastic, stainless steel, and wood handles, are commonly used tools in many of our homes for keeping our grills clean. Specifically, the recall involves several models: CCB-100, CCB-4125, CCB-5014, CCB-6450, CCB-8012, CCB-4114, CCB-W2, and CSBS-777. The word “Cuisinart” is stamped right on the handle. Some of these brushes were also included in larger grill tool sets. They were sold through many popular retailers and online platforms between June 2009 and March 2026, priced anywhere between $8 and $20.

Why This Matters

The concern with the Cuisinart grill brushes arises from the potential for small metal wire bristles to detach from the brush during use. These bristles can stick to grills or even to the food we prepare, posing a risk of ingestion. Unfortunately, ingesting these tiny pieces of metal can lead to serious internal injuries. There have been 54 reports of this happening, including three incidents where individuals required medical treatment to remove wire bristles from their digestive tract or throat.
