I Gasped When I Saw the Hill House x Williams Sonoma Apron—Then I Saw the Mommy-and-Me Version

We almost never dedicate an entire article to one product at Señora Era.

We see thousands of products. Usually, if we’re covering a launch, we’re editing down an entire collection. If we’re shopping for the kitchen, we’re giving you the best of the best. It takes something pretty exceptional for one single product to get its own story.

And then I saw the Hill House x Williams Sonoma apron.

I gasped.

Not “oh, that’s cute.” An actual, involuntary gasp.

The ruffled shoulders. The huge bow. The romantic Hill House prints. It looked less like an apron and more like someone had taken the wonderfully feminine spirit of a Hill House Nap Dress and decided it belonged in the kitchen.

I bought it immediately.

And then things escalated.

The Hill House x Williams Sonoma Apron Is Basically a Nap Dress for Your Kitchen

Known for its romantic prints and feminine silhouettes, Nell Diamond’s Hill House brings its signature patterns to Williams Sonoma in an exclusive collection designed to make the rituals of daily life feel a little more special.

And this apron is the piece that absolutely got me.

It is made from 100% plain-woven cotton, so underneath all that prettiness, it’s actually intended to be used. There are two front pockets for keeping kitchen tools, a recipe or your phone nearby, and side ties help create a comfortable fit.

It is soft and romantic and ridiculously charming—but you can also cook dinner in it.

Which is important because I fully intend to.

The Hill House x Williams Sonoma Apron Comes in Three Prints

Then I discovered that it comes in three different patterns, which made choosing significantly more difficult.

Dewdrop Bouquet

The Hill House x Williams Sonoma Dewdrop Bouquet apron combines leafy green branches and blue blooms over a delicate lattice background. Against the ruffles and oversized bow, it feels incredibly feminine without becoming overly sweet.

It’s blue-and-white kitchen perfection.

Farmer’s Market

Then there is Farmer’s Market, which is pure happiness.

Instead of a traditional floral, the Hill House x Williams Sonoma Farmer’s Market apron has a vibrant pattern of summer produce and floating diamond motifs. It’s colorful, whimsical and slightly unexpected.

Basically: wear this one and suddenly you’re the kind of woman who gets up early on Saturday, visits the farmers market with a woven basket and comes home to make something fabulous with heirloom tomatoes.

Or at least you look like her.

Climbing Vine

The Hill House x Williams Sonoma Climbing Vine apron is covered in scattered florals in muted blues and greens.

Of the three, this one gives me the strongest romantic English-country-kitchen feeling. It’s soft and botanical and looks like something you’d wear while casually pulling a homemade galette out of the oven.

Whether I am actually making a homemade galette while wearing it remains to be seen.

And There Are Matching Hill House x Williams Sonoma Kitchen Pieces

As if the apron weren’t enough, the patterns extend into coordinating Hill House x Williams Sonoma kitchen pieces, which is where this starts becoming a whole situation.

There is a matching Hill House x Williams Sonoma Oven Mitt & Potholder Set, Hill House x Williams Sonoma Towels, Set of 2, and Hill House x Williams Sonoma Mugs.

That means you can choose your favorite pattern and carry the Hill House look through the kitchen: apron hanging on a hook, matching towels by the sink, coordinating oven mitts by the stove and one of the Hill House x Williams Sonoma mugs sitting next to the coffee maker.

Yes.

This also makes the collection incredibly giftable. The apron and coordinating mug would make a wonderful hostess or holiday gift. Add the towels and oven mitt set and suddenly you have a complete kitchen gift that feels considered instead of looking like a random assortment of things.

If Williams Sonoma collaborations are your weakness too, our edits of the Honeycomb Collection and Stanley Tucci’s cookware collaboration are worth a look.

And THEN I Saw the Mommy-and-Me Version

This is where I lost it.

I had already gasped over the apron.

I had already bought it.

And then I realized there was a mommy-and-me version.

I AUDIBLY SCREAMED.

Because apparently giving me a ruffled floral apron with a giant bow wasn’t enough. Now you’re telling me my daughter can match me in the kitchen?

Come on.

Matching Hill House aprons while baking Christmas cookies. Making pancakes together on Sunday morning. Thanksgiving prep. Birthday cupcakes. A random Saturday afternoon when we decide we’re baking something and are dressed approximately 700 percent cuter than the activity requires.

I WANT ALL OF IT.

And that’s when this became more than a pretty apron to me.

I could immediately picture the memories we’d make wearing them.

Why the Hill House x Williams Sonoma Collection Works So Well

There’s actually something smart happening underneath all these ruffles.

Nell Diamond founded Hill House with a love of expressive prints, relaxed style and pieces that bring warmth and personality to everyday life. For Williams Sonoma, the collection was designed with a layered approach to color and pattern so the individual pieces feel at home together.

That’s an important distinction.

This isn’t just Hill House x Williams Sonoma written on an ordinary apron.

It looks like Hill House.

The patterns coordinate across the collection, which means the apron doesn’t have to be a standalone purchase. Dewdrop Bouquet, Climbing Vine and Farmer’s Market can become little kitchen stories of their own.

Suddenly your adorable apron has become an entire aesthetic.

Dangerous.

And Yes, It’s Actually a Practical Apron

Part of what makes me love this even more is that Williams Sonoma didn’t forget that people are actually going to cook in the thing.

The apron features:

  • 100% plain-woven cotton
  • Two front pockets
  • Side ties for a comfortable fit
  • Three Hill House patterns
  • Coordinating pieces throughout the Hill House x Williams Sonoma collection
  • Cotton grown by Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) certified farmers
  • Made in a Fair Trade Certified factory

The Hill House Mommy-and-Me Aprons Might Be an Even Better Gift

And now I can’t stop thinking about these as gifts.

One Hill House apron would already make a fantastic hostess gift, Mother’s Day gift, holiday gift, housewarming gift or gift for someone who loves cooking and baking.

But the matching adult and children’s aprons?

That’s a whole different level.

Give a mom and daughter their matching aprons with cookie cutters, a cookbook or a favorite baking mix and you’ve essentially given them an activity they’ll do together.

And those are my favorite kinds of gifts.

They’re things—but they’re also an excuse to make a memory.

So Yes, We Just Wrote an Entire Article About One Apron

And I stand by it.

We don’t need to turn every cute product we see into a major shopping event. In fact, because we look at so much stuff at Señora Era, I think the opposite should be true.

When something genuinely makes us stop, that’s when we should tell you about it.

The Hill House x Williams Sonoma apron did exactly that.

I gasped.

I bought it.

I discovered there were three prints.

Then I discovered the matching mom-and-daughter option and audibly screamed.

At that point, the apron had earned its article.

And if you see me and my daughter making Christmas cookies in matching ruffled floral aprons with enormous bows this year, please understand that this was completely unavoidable.
