  1. Air out your bedding once a week.
Reduces Moisture, gets rid of mold and bacteria, and eliminates funky odors. Not having to put them in the wash all the time also reduces the amount of electricity you use, which is good for the environment and your wallet.
  2. Dry bigger things out back
You don’t have to put everything in the dryer – the señoras of the past aired out all their laundry out back. You’ll save electricity and reduce you carbon footprint, the sun is a natural disinfectant, and  you’ll be preserving your bedding.
  3. Eat outside: you get fresh air, natural light in your eyes, an immediate connection to nature, and you’ll reduce screnetime.
  4. Add frutita to every meal: Remember how your abuelita would put fruits or jams in everything? It’s a simple healthy hack for your well-being.
  5. Go to the mercado every week: Your abuelas were in their Mercados eras. They went weekly, maybe  even daily. At your local farmers market, being around people, and buying fresh food is an instant mood booster.
  6. Plant something. Anything: There’s a reason why the señoras of the past were so good with plants; it’s an easy stress buster, it helps you get vitamin D exposure, and you even get a little bit of exercise.
  7. Get into new tea flavors: If you get stuck in a rut, there’s nothing better than getting excited about tasting new things in your cup.
  8. Spend as much time outside as you can: Gardening, reading, or working: did you ever see a señora stuck indoors all day long?
  9. Notice the little things all around  you: There is life all around you. If you’re in a fun, it can help you remember that there’s a bigger world out there.
  10. Try working with herbs: Make something. It’s  a fun hobby, and you’ll end up with lots of delicious herbal things.
  11. Get good cookware:  Our abuslitas had incredible clay pots and pans, which made their cooking taste that much better. Try to get high quality cookware. It’ll motivate you to cook more.
  12. Find unconventional ways to cook things you already buy – like did you know you can make yogurt in your hot pot or ninja foodie? There’s so many easy ways to make things you regularly buy at the supermarket.
  13. Get your hands dirty once a week and cook something hard: bake pan, or try fermenting old veggies. I don’t know why but it feels really really good to work with your hands and make something useful for your family or your home. It gives you an end goal that you learn about and try to perfect every week. You’ll start looking forward to doing it weekly, even if you hate to cook, like I do.
