Some of those decongestants you’re using have an ingredient that the FDA just said doesn’t work: Phenylephrine, which became widely used during the 2000s as a replacement for pseudoephedrine. Don’t panic: the FDA says it’s just like a placebo because it may not work at all. However, sometimes it can also create side effects like headaches, nervousness and blood pressure at higher doses. The ingredient is mostly in meds like Sudafed PE, Vicks Sinex and Benadryl Allergy Plus Congestion.

You can find alternatives, and there are also abuela/grandma hacks like the hot steam from a shower, and drinking lots of fluids. Also try neti pots; I know you hate them but they freaking work.
