Señora Bestsellers: What Señoras Actually Bought

We can recommend things all day long, but you know what we really want to know?

What did everyone actually buy?

So naturally, we looked.

We pulled together our recent shopping data, combined it with the pieces readers were clicking into again and again, and found a very clear pattern: Señoras like their everyday things to have a little personality.

Pretty bedding. Colorful dinnerware. Romantic lamps. Great dresses. Linen pants. Fabulous shoes. Backpacks that are almost too pretty for school. Even the practical purchases somehow ended up being chic.

Consider this the official Señora Bestseller List, updated with our recent favorites.

Style

First, we need to discuss the shorts.

The lace-trim shorts from Walmart’s The Devil Wears Prada collection became one of our most talked-about fashion finds recently. Apparently Señoras collectively decided that inexpensive little lace shorts were essential.

We support this decision.

But the rest of the fashion list might be even more interesting. Readers gravitated toward pieces that feel polished without being precious: breezy dresses, relaxed linen, feminine skirts, great sandals and a handful of seriously good splurges.

Basically, clothes for people who want to look pulled together without making getting dressed their full-time job.

Handbags & Jewelry

This category is smaller, but it says a lot.

The accessories Señoras loved most recently weren’t about piling on trends. They were sculptural, interesting pieces that could wake up the simplest outfit.

Very good white shirt, linen pants, fabulous jewelry energy.

Home Decor

If there is one thing we learned recently, it’s that Señoras do not want boring houses.

Painted ceramics. Stripes. Florals. Needlepoint. Patterned lampshades. Decorative bowls whose sole purpose is to sit there looking fabulous.

Basically, if your grandmother might have owned something similar—but you could also imagine spotting it in a very chic boutique hotel—we’re interested.

Bedding

Apparently we all decided our beds needed a little more beauty lately.

And we didn’t do it quietly.

Patchwork, florals, romantic prints, scallops, lace trim and beautiful shams dominated this category. Pottery Barn’s patterned bedding did especially well, with LoveShackFancy and Morris & Co. making very Señora appearances.

There are worse things to become emotionally invested in than a really good quilt.

Furniture & Storage

Even the practical things got the Señora treatment.

A floral storage bench? Yes.

A romantic nightstand? Obviously.

A woven hamper pretty enough to leave out? We understand each other.

Tabletop & Entertaining

Oh, this category.

If the bestseller list tells us anything, it’s that Señoras are setting the table again.

Colorful plates, florals, berry shades, beautiful serving boards, bread baskets, pretty glasses and dinnerware collections were everywhere.

We’re calling it: the beautifully set table is back.

Not that we ever believed it left.

Kitchen

Only one traditional kitchen appliance managed to break through.

But naturally, it was not a boring one.

Outdoor Living

The latest assignment was apparently: make the backyard feel like another room.

Patterned pillows, rugs and pretty furniture blurred the line between indoors and out—which is exactly how we want everyday living to feel.

Kids & Family

We weren’t expecting this category to show up quite like this, but apparently the Señora philosophy extends to the playroom too.

Comfortable. Colorful. Useful.

And yes, still cute enough that we don’t mind looking at it every day.

Back to School

Back-to-school shopping entered a very pretty era among recent favorites.

LoveShackFancy backpacks, tiny floral supply kits, pink puff bags and matching lunch totes were among the things readers couldn’t resist.

Apparently even pencils deserve a little romance.

We don’t make the rules.

Games & Mahjong

And then there was mahjong.

Which feels less like a random bestseller and more like confirmation that we are all slowly turning our homes into fabulous little social clubs.

Exactly as intended.

Beauty & Wellness

A little fragrance. A little red light.

Because apparently balance is buying a romantic perfume and then immediately researching cellular wellness.

Very Señora.

Seasonal

And because some of us simply cannot be expected to stay in the current season, Halloween entered the chat before the season was even over.

Honestly? We respect the enthusiasm.

So, What Have Señoras Loved Recently?

Looking at the entire list together, the answer is kind of perfect.

Pretty things for ordinary life.

The dinner plates we use every night.

The quilt on the bed.

The backpack headed to school.

The little lamp in the corner.

The linen pants we keep reaching for.

The serving bowl we absolutely did not need but now somehow use constantly.

Even when the purchases were practical, readers consistently chose the version with more personality.

More color. More pattern. More charm. More story.

And that might be the best definition of the Señora Era yet: we’re not waiting for special occasions to use the good things.

We’re making the everyday things good.

See you in the fall bestseller report.
