If you opened Google today and saw pink and purple lights, a bongo and a trumpet, you’re not dreaming. I am Hispanic and I am just as confused as you are lol.
So what is up with the google doodle today?
It turns out that Google’s Hispanic Heritage Month Doodle is a love letter to Latin pop, and it comes with a list of the 100 biggest Latin songs of all time. Number one? “Conga.” Number two? Selena. Mira, whoever made this list was raised right.

For those of us who grew up recording songs off the radio onto cassettes, this list is basically our childhood. Selena in our bedrooms, Shakira at school parties, Luis Miguel in our grandma’s cars. And now our daughters are playing Karol G and Bad Bunny.
The Latin Pop Playlist, According to Google (and Us)
Google’s top five starts with Gloria Estefan’s “Conga,” then Selena’s “Amor Prohibido,” Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie,” Grupo Frontera and Grupo Firme’s “El Amor de Su Vida,” and Karol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido.” The rest of the 100 includes Luis Miguel, Maná, Rocío Dúrcal, Rosalía, Bad Bunny, and of course “Despacito.”
