Our generation is not getting enough fiber. In fact, we are only getting 15 grams of fiber, where we actually need over 30g of fiber to keep healthy.

Why is fiber so healthy? It’s one of the most protective, metabolic-boosting nutrients we can get. Fiber is the primary food source for the beneficial bacteria in your gut, which is protective against many diseases; it stabilizes your blood sugar, which can lower your risk of diabetes; supports healthy digestion, and heart health. It balances your metabolism, and literally clearing waste from your body.

High-fiber diets consistently show some of the strongest protective effects against chronic disease across all major nutrition studies.

But sometimes we don’t have time to measure the amount of fiber we are getting. That’s where these gut shots that we have found come in.  Taking a shot in the morning and one in the afternoon is a gentle, concentrated way to nourish yourself with the benefits of so many fruits and veggies at once that will help you meet your fiber goals. Plus it’s colorful! You’ll start to look forward to your daily shot.

How to make it:

Add the beets to your blender first so they break down smoothly.

Follow with the strawberries, lemon pieces, and orange segments.

Add coconut water to taste (whether you want it more or less watery)

Blend/juice until as much a liquid as possible.

Do not strain – keep it pulpy for extra fiber.

Add to teeny bottles  or mason jars  and use within 3–4 days.

Green Monster Gut Shot

This is a mix of a few recipes that we changed to our liking. A refreshing, garden-green tonic perfect for daily sipping.

1–2 cucumbers (depending on size), roughly chopped
